NYPD Traffic Stop Leads to Large Marijuana Bust

NYPD 6th Precinct drug bust via NYPD

When you're smuggling 11 large bags of drugs in your SUV, steer clear of the NYPD.

This pot perp was pulled over in his Range Rover on Wooster Street in SoHo when the vehicle's dark-tinted windows attracted the attention of the NYPD. Mayor de Blasio and NYPD brass recently announced an initiative to target too-dark vehicle windows to improve officer safety, and the dark windows of the SUV gave the NYPD reason to investigate.

The vehicle contained 11 bags of vaccuum-sealed marijuana, multiple cell phones, and $10,000. After being caught, the driver attempted to bribe the officers with the $10,000 if they let him go, but that only added bribery to his list of charges.

If you see any suspicious vehicles packed full of a marijuana harvest, call 911 or contact NYPD CrimeStoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (1-800-577-8477), via text at CRIMES (274637), or via online form.
