Facebook To Open An Engineering Presence In New York City As Early As 2012

Facebook is holding a press conference with Mayor Bloomberg, scheduled to start at 2pm, but they have already been scooped. Before anyone at Facebook HQ had a chance to take the stage, Reuters Tech tweeted the story: “Facebook to open an engineering office in NYC in 2012”
While they have had a presence in NYC since 2007, with its “global markets sales team”, this will be an office to tap into the growing tech talent centered around NYC – Facebook’s Vice President of Engineering says they “want them to help us solve the challenges of designing and building the next generation of Facebook.”
