Managing their image and relationship with the downtown community has become a pressing problem for Occupy Wall Street. After being contacted by Brookfield Properties over sanitary issues and nearly having to leave the park, Occupy Wall Street has been more focused on keeping Zuccotti Park clean and maintaining a positive relationship with the residents who live near their camp.

To handle any future concerns, Occupy Wall Street announced its own version of 311, where downtown residents can contact the group via phone (917-524-7811) or email (owscommunityrelations@gmail.com) to report quality of life issues related to the protest.
