Stop by the Cake Shop this New Year's Eve for the venue's final show.

The popular indie music venue has announced that it will be closing at the end of 2016. It wasn't clear whether rising rents or a changing neighborhood dealt the final blow, but the doors will close for good this year, ending an 11 year history. The future may hold a move across the East River to reopen in Brooklyn, but Cake Shop faithful should make their final pilgrimages this weekend.

Check cake-shop.com for tickets and line ups and head down to 152 Ludlow at Stanton for the last few nights of shows before the final curtain is drawn and the last vegan cookie crumbs are swept up.
