Years and Years - "Real"

There's usually little innovation in pop music, with bands being engineered to cling to whatever passing fad record execs want to promote for the next 18 months, so "Real" by Years and Years is a pleasant surprise from a sometimes-disappointing genre.

Delightfully creepy with syncopated click-clapping over such a dark background ambiance, "Real" moves with a dexterity that is difficult to find in pop, especially when performing the song live.

An inventive and enjoyable tune, and it's fun to pretend that the little brothers of the guys in Infected Mushroom grew up listening to Justin Timberlake and decided to form a band.
