Already feeling anxious about getting your Christmas gifts delivered on time? The USPS is doing all they can to help you out this year.

After UPS and FedEx were overwhelmed by holiday packages in 2013, online shoppers will be approaching shipping deadlines with a bit of trepidation this year. USPS is hoping to sweep in and pick up the slack, expanding package delivery to seven days a week in "major cities and high volume areas", according to their announcement.

The Post Office tried something similar last holiday season when they teamed up with Amazon to add Sunday delivery in Los Angeles and NYC, and later expanded it to other cities near Amazon distribution centers. Amazon is also pushing to make this holiday shipping season go off without a hitch by pre-sorting its packages before they go out for shipping to take some of the pressure off UPS, FedEx, and USPS.

Either way, it's probably best to get those gifts lined up before the holiday rush really hits. Maybe a nice poster of vintage Central Park for everyone on your list?
