Stranger wearing a "Jason"-style hockey Halloween mask approached CeFaan Kim on March 3, 2017 as he was reporting live.

While Lower East Side streets are home to colorful individuals on Friday nights, one incident turned serious as a masked man approached an ABC 7 reporter conducting a live report. The camera captured the hockey-mask-wearing assailant approach from the street behind the reporter and place his arm around his shoulders, attempting to shout something into the camera as it broadcast live. The camera operator panned away from the scene and the live broadcast cut to other footage, but the camera operator moved back to capture the attacker's face after he removed his mask and began taunting CeFann and a bystander. Below is the video of the incident shared by CeFaan that will hopefully lead to the attacker's capture.

CeFaan reports on Facebook that he escaped unharmed, but was shoved to the ground in the scuffle that resulted as he tried to separate from the attacker.

Update:

The attacker tells the Post that he intended his grappling with a TV reporter to be a publicity stunt. He has not yet turned himself in.
