New York's last lighthouse is a cheery presence under the massive George Washington Bridge, and the Little Red Lighthouse Festival is your chance to tour the inside. The lighthouse will be open Saturday, October 7, 2017 from Noon to 4pm, and the location is right under the George Washington Bridge on the Manhattan side in Riverside Park near West 175th Street. The Parks Department suggests entering at West 181st Street or West 158th Street and following the Little Red Lighthouses sprayed on the path.

The day will feature family activities, food vendors, and educational information from organizations that care for the nearby Hudson River. There will even be readings from a giant copy of the book 'The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge' by Hildegarde Swift and illustrated by Lynd Ward.
