A 26-year-old woman was surprised when the pain she felt in her shoulder was a gunshot wound.

In the early hours of Sunday morning on the Lower East Side, a woman was struck after exiting a cab at 108 Rivington at Ludlow. The sound of the shot must have been too quiet to cause alarm, because it was only after walking away from the cab that she noticed a pain in her shoulder, and discovered that she had just been shot. The bullet only grazed her left shoulder and she is expected to make a full recovery.

After police investigation, the suspect was only identified by a grey sweatshirt as he sped away on an electric bicycle. The woman was probably a random victim of the suspect's wild shot, but the intended target was not known, and no other victims were found in the area. No arrests have been made.

The location was outside famous candy store Economy Candy, but the 5am incident was long before the store opened for the day.
