Suspects Captured in Times Square Burnout and Assault of Police Officer

Police have captured two suspects wanted after fleeing the scene and nearly running over an NYPD officer in Times Square.
Dramatic video posted over the weekend showed a driver peeling out and smoking the tires of a 500hp Mercedes AMG C-63 in Times Square. Since the incident was directly in front of the Times Square police outpost, officers stepped onto Seventh Avenue and motioned for the car to stop. Instead, the driver lurched forward, attempting to steer away, even while the police officer was partially on the hood of the vehicle. After the officer was thrown to the ground, the car drove west on 42nd street, with multiple officers running behind it in pursuit.
Police believe these suspects had a connection to the incident: Arfhy Santos and William Lopez. A public Facebook profile under one of the suspects' names shows video from December of a black Mercedes nearly identical to the one driven in Times Square. Five hours after distributing their photos, the two are in custody. Santos is believed to have been the driver, although Lopez owns the vehicle. Both have multiple prior arrests.
WANTED: Arfhy Santos (20 y/o) and William Lopez (24 y/o) in connection to leaving the scene of a vehicle collision/assault of a NYPD police officer on W. 42 St at 11:42pm on Jan. 13.
