Four "Portable Battery Chargers" Trigger Suspicious Package Search at Trump Tower

Just after 6pm, NYPD responded to Trump Tower to investigate multiple suspicious packages, closing down traffic on Fifth Avenue while the NYPD Bomb Squad determined whether the devices were dangerous.

An hour after the police responded to the scene, the situation was deemed safe. NBC4 spoke with two law enforcement officials who described the objects as "portable battery chargers" found by a custodian in the lobby.

5th Avenue from 57th to 56th street is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for a precautionary investigation.
