It's happening: After announcing dual locations for their new HQ2, Amazon will be settling into Long Island City in a nice high-rise with skyline views.

Commercial Observer reports that the largest internet company in the world will move into one million square feet of office space in the Citigroup Building. Also known as One Court Square, the 50-story building is the tallest in NYC outside of Manhattan and is recognized by its "CITI" lettering along the top of the building that can be seen from the three surrounding boroughs. Citigroup will vacate portions of their eponymous building to make way for Amazon and already announced that 1,100 of the 3,000 employees will move from LIC to 388 Greenwich in Tribeca.

Amazon will enter a neighborhood that has quickly transitioned from industrial to hip over the past 10 years and the impact of the company and its influx of affluent employees will likely push the transformation even further, so look for the taxi depots and two-story warehouses to become construction sites as developers plan new residential towers for a new wave of New Yorkers.

The least they could do is use our Amazon affiliate link when ordering new cubicles for the offices 🙏
