Have you ever wondered why so many Jews eat Chinese food on Christmas? Join us at "Christmas for Jews" and learn all about the fascinating history and evolution of the "traditional" Jewish Christmas with Eli Reiter, and make some homemade dumplings with Jonathan Hartig of J2Food. Our interactive dumpling making and roundtable discussion will be followed by a delicious, Chinese food feast! Jonathan Hartig is a private chef, cooking instructor, and caters events of all sizes through his company, J2Food. He also hosts a "Pop Up Foodie Shabbat" dinner series that caters to young Jewish professionals throughout New York City and Philadelphia, as well as intimate cooking classes for both culinary novices and experienced cooks. Eli Reiter is a teacher, storyteller, and writer living in New York. He hosts and produces the long-form storytelling show called “Long Story Long," and is passionate about empowering others to share their story. His writing can be found in The New York Times, Washington Post, NY Daily News, Tablet Magazine and Slate.
