The light blue passenger van service will cease operations by February 1, 2019.

If you were planning on commuting via Ford's Chariot vans during any impending transit meltdowns, it's time to plan a new escape route. The van service announced it will be shutting down February 1st in a message from Dan Grossman, the CEO of Chariot. No reason was given for the exit, but operations are shutting down globally, not just the New York routes.

Chariot entered NYC in 2017 and operated two public routes, the Dumbo Direct from Dumbo to Greenpoint and the Midtown Getaround, winding around Midtown, Long Island City, and Williamsburg. A monthly pass cost $119 and single rides were $4.
