Early this morning, I stumbled upon one of the mythical last 25 remaining Checker Cabs in NYC:

The iconic Checker Cab was the predominant NYC taxi model beginning in the 1940s, with the last models being manufactured in 1982 and the last Checker leaving the New York City fleet in July 1999.
