Pickle Day on the LES

Sadly, it appears that the Pickle Day street festival is no longer being held. Pickle celebrations started in September 2001, with the first NYC International Pickle Day, continuing through 2010. For 2011, there was the Peck Slip Pickle Fest at New Amsterdam Market. The LES Business Improvement District brought the festival back to Orchard Street for the next few years, minus a Hurricane Sandy cancellation. After continuing under the Lower East Side Partnership, the final festival seems to have been 2019, with the event now considered historical. If you still have a hankerin' for a pickle, keep an eye out for Grillo's Pickles' Lower East Side celebration, usually held in June, which keeps the pickle spirit alive! It has hosted events at 2 Rivington Street from 2023 to 2026. 🙏🥒
