DayLife Street Fair on the Lower East Side

DayLife on the Lower East Side

The first DayLife event will be held June 3rd, 2012 on Orchard Street from noon to 5pm, featuring food, music, and fashion!

You may have walked through the Lower East Side on a weekend and noticed that a portion of Orchard Street is temporarily closed to traffic on Sundays. Some of the businesses on that stretch between Delancey and Houston will wheel out racks of clothes and handbags into the street, but thereโ€™s usually not much action in the area. The new DayLife street fair aims to change that.

DayLife is an event developed by the LES BID, Dub Studio Architects, Design NYC, and local businesses that hopes to breathe some life back into the fairly mundane Sundays on Orchard Street. Businesses will be encouraged to line the street using custom-designed pushcarts to hold their wares. Check the Lower East Side site for a complete list of vendors, which includes Melt Bakery, Roasting Plant Coffee, and Goodfellas Brick Oven Pizza, as well as LES clothing stores bringing their fashion into the street.

Music will be provided by Ryan Cabrera, Jared Evan, Mia Moretti & Caitlin Moe, and Crown & Asante, and DJs will be spinning all throughout the day.

Canโ€™t make it to the Celebrate Israel parade on the Upper East Side? Then swing by Orchard Street on Sunday to grab some food, some new threads, or just hang out and listen to some tunes! All the details can be found on the Lower East Side DayLife site.
