Temperatures may still be in the 60s, but a sure sign that winter is on the way has started showing up in Midtown: Two famous skating rinks are currently under construction.

The skating rink at Bryant Park (above) is set to open October 27th, and also involves the construction of the Holiday Shops around the perimeter of the rink and the two-story restaurant Celsius.

Skating rink being prepped at Rockefeller Center

Without a doubt, the most famous skating rink in the city is the Rockefeller Center rink, which is also being prepped for opening day. The ice is being leveled out and maintained, while around the perimeter, workers are touching up the paint on the exterior walls. The Rockefeller Center rink will open soon, with a tentative date of a few days after October 15th, and full holiday hours beginning in November.
