Timothy Caughman is stabbed with a sword and killed on 36th Street in Hell's Kitchen by a white man from Baltimore who had traveled to Manhattan planning to kill black men

In a video confession, the killer proclaimed his racist and white supremacist beliefs and said he had planned to go on a killing spree. The attacker surrendered to police before carrying out attacks he had planned for Times Square. He admitted to stalking couples in Central Park before carrying out his attack on a 66-year-old man collecting cans for recycling.
