Overturned Vehicle Near Bryant Park

A traffic accident at 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue resulted in an overturned car.

The accident drew a large NYPD and FDNY response, due to the victim being pinned in the car. After being removed, the victim was reportedly transported to the hospital in serious condition.

WABC now reports that ten people were injured in the accident, with three injuries being critical.

Police say one vehicle rear ended another while it was stopped at a red light at the intersection.

The vehicle that was rear ended was spun around and was left facing eastbound.

It struck a taxi as it spun through the intersection.

The vehicle that hit the car flipped over and ended up striking 4 or 5 pedestrians.

Eight people were taken to Bellevue Hospital, three of them in critical condition.

Two others refused treatment at the scene.

Traffic was blocked on 42nd Street between Fifth and Sixth and Sixth Ave between 42nd and 43rd Streets until 1:30am.
