De Witt Clinton Park
Named for DeWitt Clinton, a former U.S. Senator, Mayor of New York City, and Governor of New York, who also lends his name to the nearby "Clinton" neighorhood. Beginning in 1810, Clinton oversaw construction of the Erie Canal, and this riverside park contains "Erie Canal Playground" in honor of the project.
