Reports of gunshots tonight outside the NYU dorm ‘Alumni Hall’ at Third Avenue and East 9th Street.

Just before midnight, Washington Square News reported that two groups were involved in a shooting. It’s unclear if the shooting had any relation to NYU students or if the location just happened to be outside an NYU dorm.

Brett Chamberlin on Twitter posts the emergency notification that NYU Public Safety sent to students:

NYU Public Safety has sent out an update stating that the investigation has concluded. No clear info on whether any suspects were arrested or if the gun was recovered.

[Update] ‘The Local East Village’ reports that the shooting was connected with an open mic night at The Central Bar on East 9th Street.
