Around 9am on Monday, a woman was struck while crossing Sixth Ave on a scooter.

A tractor trailer was reportedly making a right turn from Houston Street to Sixth Avenue when it struck and killed a 58 year-old woman who was riding a push-style scooter across the sidewalk from east to west. As the flatbed truck turned, the woman was caught up into the rear wheels and dragged two blocks up Sixth Avenue before the truck stopped at Carmine Street. The stretch of Sixth between Houston and West 3rd Street was closed from 9am to around noon, when Medical Examiners and the NYPD ESU removed the body from underneath the truck and drove the truck away.

Witness says that people were yelling at the truck to stop - two blocks later it did

Witnesses said that onlookers and drivers were telling the truck to stop, but it was still unclear whether when the driver became aware that he had hit someone.
