Two workers were trapped on the side of 33 Maiden Lane after a malfunction caused the gondola lift to slant to the side.

It was unclear whether the workers were window-washers or part of a construction crew, but Department of Buildings data does show many open construction permits at 33 Maiden Lane.

After firefighters arrived on scene, they were able to stabilize the lift, break out a window in the skyscraper, and pull the workers to safety.
