Eli Black dies by suicide after smashing out a 44th-floor window at the Pan Am Building and jumping to his death on Park Avenue

As the CEO of United Brands, his company had been facing financial hardships and it was soon to be revealed that he had bribed Honduras in an effort to lower the costs of exporting bananas.
