The Barbie doll debuts at the American International Toy Fair in New York

Barbie would eventually go on to sell over 1 billion dolls. Over the years, there have been New York-themed designs like the Winter in New York Barbie wearing a fur-trimmed coat and a special-edition Barbie only available at the Times Square Toys R Us.
