NYPD officer Brian Moore is shot and killed while on duty in Hollis, Queens

He and his partner had asked a suspicious man to stop, but the man drew a gun and fired at least two rounds, one which struck Brian in the head. He died in hospital two days later. The shooter was found guilty on multiple counts and received life in prison with no possibility of parole.
