Park Avenue Malls (34th Street)

Park Avenue Malls (34th Street) [OpenStreetMap]

The oldest of the three Park Avenue Malls, this section begins where the Park Avenue Tunnel dives underground and stretches north from 34th Street to 39th Street, adding a bit of green between the north and south-bound lanes of Park Avenue. When the tunnel re-emerges at 39th, the park ends as the Park Avenue Viaduct rises up over Grand Central Terminal. View the other sections of the park at 46th Street and 59th Street. In a unique partnership, the Fund for Park Avenue maintains the public malls, arranging spring plantings, sculpture installations, and a display of lighted Christmas trees.
