Dear sir/madame, Why isn t the beautiful stone grotto located just outside of the tennis courts on the south side of Seton Park in Riverdale, (close to Independence Ave and 232nd st), sand blasted, cleaned and restored. This is a historic leftover from the time that the Sisters of Charity , Elizabeth Seton TB hospital occupied the park property. Elizabeth Seton had been canonized into Sainthood in the Roman Catholic Church. The Sisters of Charity Are well known for their humane contribution to NY especially during the Civil War. None of this should be forgotten. The Grotto should be fully restored and preserved. It has historical significance.
