I grew up in Astoria projects from 1974 to 84 I played choose up baseball games here and as an adult in the early 2000s up to 13 I played here in an adult baseball league. I became an avid baseball fan back in '79 grew up watching the Yankees play was always inspired by the entire organization and learn to know the history of the great Yankees. I actually met whitey Ford and Cooperstown. Real great guy this is a tremendous honor in his name I hope many youth will grow up and be inspired by this new ballpark. I love baseball the greatest game ever invented.
